Kiacrete: a puddle-free pavement

Unparalleled permeability, strength, durability and safety. Engineered by the Resilient Sustainable Infrastructure Group at Imperial College London.

A new take on pavement surfaces

Kiacrete is a next-generation permeable pavement surface with high permeability, strength and durability. Kiacrete is engineered to reduce urban flooding and provide a safe pavement surface across the built environment.

Permeability and strength

Kiacrete can drain an Olympic-sized swimming pool in as little as 40 seconds and can be used in pedestrian footpaths and cycleways up to airport taxiways.

Proven long-term performance

Kiacrete was deployed for three years at the White City campus of Imperial College London, until the land was required for the planned redevelopment. Across rain, snow, frost and sun, Kiacrete retained its permeability, strength and surface performance.

Cast in-place and precast

Kiacrete can be cast on-site or delivered as precast slabs from leading precast concrete manufacturers using conventional, low-carbon, cement free and pigmented concrete mixes. Kiacrete can be used unreinforced or reinforced with conventional steel bars or fibres.
